Using training technology for competency-based learning and assessment: Part 1

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to review the place of learning and assessment technologies in technical and vocational training. We give an overview of the key role of competency-based assessment in technical and vocational training and how this can be supported by technology-based training and assessment. We identify the importance place of learning and assessment technology in training but also identify where, we believe, it should be used with caution by trainers and assessors.
